Plain Old HTML Websites
Plain old HTML websites do not, I repeat, do not have to be boring! With the use of externally linked CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), the markup of any webpage can be a thing of beauty. When I talk to people about accessible web design, what I usually get in return are comments about how Macromedia Flash is the future of the web, with Dreamweaver/Photoshop generating table-based code that “looks really pretty”.
But if we designers take the time to study our craft, and really begin to use semantic HTML, we can blow away the table-based mentality of those Flash designers!
