Microformats for Dummies

Microformats. What are they exactly? If you’re as geeky as I am, you’ll now that microformats are going to, and they are already, revolutionizing the semantic world of HTML.

If you’ve never heard of Microformats, well, let’s quote the source itself:

“Designed for humans first and machines second, microformats are a set of simple, open data formats built upon existing and widely adopted standards. Instead of throwing away what works today, microformats intend to solve simpler problems first by adapting to current behaviors and usage patterns (e.g. XHTML, blogging).” (Taken from: http://microformats.org/about/)
Before we get into microformats like: hCard, hCalendar, VoteLinks, Review, XFN, rel-license, rel-tag - and the others, well, since it’s pretty well into the night now, you - Great Reader - will have to wait until I wake up tomorrow to post again!
